Former U.S. coach Bob Bradley leaves Norwegian club Stabaek

Former United States coach Bob Bradley announced his resignation from Norwegian club Stabaek on Thursday.

Reports in Norway and France say Bradley has verbally agreed to a deal to take over French second division club Le Havre, which was purchased by American businessman Vincent Volpe in July.

Alejandro Bedoya, the only current U.S. international playing in France, said on Twitter that Le Havre would be a good fit for Bradley:

The French club are without a permanent manager after firing Thierry Goudet in September.

Last week, Bradley became the first American coach to help a club qualify for a European competition as Stabaek secured a place in next season's Europa League.

He will coach his final game for the club on Sunday as Stabaek attempt to finish second in the Tippeligaen.

Bradley, 57, led the United States national team from 2006-2011, winning 43 of his 80 games in charge.

He then took charge of Egypt and led the African nation to the final round of qualification for the 2014 World Cup during period of unrest in the country.

In two seasons in Norway, Bradley transformed Stabaek from a club threatened by relegation into a spot in the Europa League.

After beginning his career in the college ranks, Bradley moved to MLS, where he coached his son, U.S. international Michael Bradley, for a time in New York.
