U.S. assistant John Hackworth hired as Louisville City coach

United States assistant John Hackworth will leave his roles with U.S. Soccer to take over Louisville City, the USL champions announced on Thursday.

Hackworth has been the coach of the U.S. under-17 team since 2015 and joined the staff of the senior national team this year under interim coach Dave Sarachan.

The 48-year-old will complete the U17's training camp in Costa Rica this month before becoming the coach of Louisville.

"I am honored and humbled but mostly just excited to join Louisville...

Las Vegas Lights boss would use Usain Bolt as a winger if club signed him

ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop explains why he doesn't see Usain Bolt's six-week A-League trial as anything more than a piece of commercialism.

Las Vegas Lights coach Jose Luis "Chelis" Sanchez Sola said he'd play Usain Bolt as a winger if the USL side was to acquire the services of the world's fastest man.

"Chelis" was adamant that the club's interest in Bolt wasn't a joke, while Lights owner and CEO Brett Lashbrook told ESPN FC's Jeff Carlisle his team were "interested" in the eight-time Olympic gold medal winner.

The Lights boss said: "He's the fastest guy on Earth and he has tried out with some of the best clubs in the world. So coming...

Usain Bolt a target for U.S. second-tier club Las Vegas Lights

ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop explains why he doesn't see Usain Bolt's six-week A-League trial as anything more than a piece of commercialism.

USL side Las Vegas Lights FC has confirmed it has an interest in signing eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt, but his wage demands are prohibitive.

Bolt has been linked with teams in Australia, Turkey, Hungary and the U.S., though a source from MLS said the league had "no interest" in signing the legendary Olympic sprinter.

In terms of other American leagues, that would leave the second tier USL, which unlike MLS has its players sign with individual clubs instead of the league. Bolt...

Tim Cahill rules out return to A-League, open to other pro offers

Australia great Tim Cahill is open to offers to continue playing club football in the United States but has ruled out any prospect of an A-League return.

Cahill spent a season and a half with Melbourne City and said he enjoyed the experience but has no interest in coming back to play in Australia because he intends to live in America.

But the 38-year-old said he would be open to collaboration with Football Federation Australia, serving as an "ambassador" to the A-League and beginning a potential...

Usain Bolt drawing interest from Turkey, Hungary, U.S. clubs - report

Usain Bolt hit home in the World XI's training ahead of the Soccer Aid match.
Usain Bolt is to have a two day trial at Borussia Dortmund where he says he will see if he is good enough to really go pro.

The publicity blitz around Usain Bolt's proposed trial at the Central Coast Mariners could cost the Australian club the opportunity to land the Jamaican sprint star in his switch to football.

Clubs from around the world have been alerted to the potential riches on offer by signing Bolt, with the Mariners now facing a battle just to get their mooted six-week trial over the line.

The Australian Associated Press reported that teams in Turkey, Hungary and the United States are among those to have entered...
