Valencia

  • Jonas 55'
  • 94'

And in truth, Valencia didn't do enough to justify staying in the competition. PSG weren't much better but they clung on under little pressure and I'm sure whoever pulls them in the next round won't be taking them lightly.

  • 94'

FULL TIME - PSG have done it! Through to the last eight of the Champions League for the first time in 18 years!

  • 93'

A corner! The final chance! Keeper up!

  • 93'

Last chance saloon for Valencia. but Alex gets a good foot in as Banega tries to play it wide.

  • 92'

Banega gets booked for a clumsy foul. PSG taking their time again.

  • 91'

Gameiro flagged offside as Lavezzi floats a ball to the back post. He should have held himself on.

  • 90'

What do Valencia have left in the tank?

  • 89'

    Three minutes to be added....

  • 88'

Gaps emerging as Valencia push up the field. PSG more interested in taking their time on the ball it seems.

  • 87'

    Banega's ball finds Soldado offside.

  • 86'

If the assault is going to come it has to be now. Four forward in that latest attack but no foul on Soldado despite his protests.

  • 85'

    Lavezzi fires home an equaliser

  • 84'

Parejo booked for a block on Lavezzi.

  • 83'

Mamadou Sakho will replace Lucas Moura in PSG's final change, so no Becks time tonight.

  • 82'

Sirigu claims well from a Valencia free kick as Mathieu lurked ominously.

  • 81'

Soldado gets a yellow for dissent

  • 80'

Jonas fires in the shot which put Valencia in front at PSG

  • 79'

Parejo does very well to slide in on Moura, who clutches his shoulder. This is more like it from the away wise. Another corner. Pressure building.

  • 78'

Important challenge from Thiago Silva as Soldado got a good ball from Banega inside the area. Now Maxwell nods behind for a corner.

  • 77'

Time for Valencia to start pushing plenty of men forward. No sign of kitchen sink yet.

  • 76'

Jonas, the goalscorer is coming off, surprisingly. Nelson Valdez replaces him.

  • 75'

Again, delivery into the front two is letting Valencia down.

  • 74'

Poor from Costa, he's tackled by Matuidi, then fouls Gameiro.

  • 73'

Lucas races onto Lavezzi's pass but he can't keep the ball in. Carlo shouts something into his hands.

  • 72'

Sirigu falls over from the latest corner. A free kick is given. Soldado looks perplexed. So he should be, the keeper fell over his feet.

  • 71'

An excellent defensive header, from Alex I think, as another dangerous corner came into PSG's box. Maxwell concedes another this time.

  • 70'

Costa's effort hits the wall - it was poor in truth. Moura tries to break but is denied.

  • 69'

Matuidi penalised for a trip on Piatti. A decent chance for Valencia - free kick 30 yards out and central.

  • 68'

Like I said earlier, that doesn't change all that much for Valencia - they needed to score before Lavezzi's goal, and they still do. Extra time now a possibility.

  • 67'

Gameiro created it by stealing the ball, running at the two centre backs and as the ball breaks free, Lavezzi's initial shot is blocked before he taps home the rebound.

  • 66'

GOAL Lavezzi scores and levels things up!

  • 64'

    Pablo Piatti replaces Feghouli.

  • 63'

Better from Gameiro, as he takes the ball off Banega. His shot is blocked but his energy has lifted PSG a little.

  • 62'

Barragan gets wide and does well to keep the ball in but Sirigu can come and claim this ahead of Soldado.

  • 60'

Matuidi nicks the ball and sets Gameiro away but again he is dispossessed relatively easily.

  • 59'

Pastore's tired ball is nowhere near Lavezzi. PSG need to be careful here.

  • 58'

Gameiro comes on for Motta as Ancelotti reacts to the goal.

  • 57'

An even if PSG level things up it doesn't really matter to Valencia, they need two even if the French side find the net.

  • 56'

What a good strike - an instant hit that might have taken a nick off Alex as it flies into the corner of the net. Now, PSG will have to raise their game. one more unanswered goal sends Valencia through.

  • 55'

GOAL Jonas with a beauty! Game on for Valencia!

  • 53'

Fantastic header from Motta as Mathieu attacks Valencia's corner. He wins a free kick.

  • 52'

Valencia need to inject some life into proceedings here, they are very flat. PSG sitting back and soaking up pressure.

  • 51'

Parejo tries to find Feghouli. who slips as he is about to take the ball in. Greasy surface by the looks of it.

  • 50'

Jonas can't bring down a long ball from Ruiz. Ibra is in one of the boxes enjoying the game.

  • 49'

He isn't, though he should be. If it wasn't a free kick, it had to be a booking for simulation. The ref has missed a trick there.

  • 48'

Feghouli takes a blatant dive and should be dealt with at the next break in play.

  • 47'

Banega looks for Soladado with his first involvement but Alex gets in the way of it.

  • 46'

Albelda has gone off for Valencia and Ever Banega replaces him as we restart...

  •

Someone needs to take a grip of this game, Moura and Pastore have tried but it requires someone in Valencia's midfield to take it by the scruff of the neck. Feghouli has been dangerous - get him on the ball more.

  • 45'

HALF TIME - the single worst corner I've ever seen ends the half as Chantome shanks his effort into the side-netting. PSG disappointing so far, despite the buzzy displays of Pastore and Moura. Valencia need to be more clinical.

  • 45'

That's better though, as Sirigu is forced save from Jonas' swerving shot. The resulting corner flashes past the far post as Pastore's flick deceives his goalkeeper.

  • 44'

Lucas Moura can get himself into trouble though; trying to dribble out when he should have offloaded. The Valencia free kick comes to nothing.

  • 43'

Moura fouls Mathieu and Valencia can load the box.

  • 42'

Valencia's final ball has been lacking, another chance for Feghouli to cross but he hits Alex when Soldado was in space.

  • 41'

An awful touch from Costa sees him foul Motta. A painful one.

  • 40'

Moura is causing panic in the Valencia rearguard every time he gets the ball. Another flick and trick there as Chantome crosses but the keeper claims.

  • 39'

A poor free kick from PSG, taken short to Maxwell, who runs into trouble and has his cross blocked. Why not just cross it in the first place?

  • 38'

    Jonas holds off Christophe Jallet

  • 37'

Ruiz is carded for a bodycheck on Matuidi, who had overrun the ball. Lovely flick and pass to release him from Pastore.

  • 36'

Super back hell from Lavezzi, Pastore gets to the byline inside the box but his drilled centre is claimed by a diving Guaita.

  • 35'

A clumsy foul from Jonas on Pastore. Valencia clearly worried about his distribution.

  • 34'

Pastore's corner is punched clear by Guaita.

  • 33'

Soldado stays onside from Barragan's pass, the striker pulls it back to the edge of the box and Jonas can't control his first-time effort.

  • 32'

Van der Wiel does break forward and there are three players in the box but his cross is plucked out of the air by Guaita.

  • 31'

That's leading to a lack of options up the field and limited numbers getting forward in support, which also means they are finding it hard to keep the ball.

  • 30'

PSG look caught betwixt and between here. Not wanting to push forward too much but wary of sitting back.

  • 29'

Poor from Costa, he gives the ball to Moura. PSG build again down the left.

  • 28'

Pastore's shot is blocked after a well worked PSG move. Better passing and movement in that break.

  • 26'

Looks like Jallet has a problem for PSG. He trots off and Van der Wiel comes on.

  • 25'

For all the bright play of Moura and Pastore, the service into Lavezzi hasn't been up to scratch so far.

  • 24'

    Decent atmosphere in the PDP.

  • 23'

Game well and truly over in Italy. Matri puts Juventus 1-0 up on Celtic. 4-0 on aggregate.

  • 22'

Albelda booked for a cynical tug on Matuidi.

  • 21'

Good from Valencia again, a lovely dummy from Costa lets Cissohko get to the byline but his cross is poor. Costa then puts in a much more dangerous one that Alex hooks clear.

  • 20'

Albelda has a pop from 35 yards. Ambitious is understating it.

  • 18'

Barragan gets down the right but delays his cross too long and Maxwell blocks it. The corner is nodded away by Motta.

  • 17'

Good spell for Valencia this. Soldado and Jonas lively.

  • 15'

First chance for Soldado as he plays a one-two with Jonas but the eventual shot lacks power and Sirigu saves. What a good opening.

  • 14'

Feghouli gets a decent chunk of space to cross but doesn't do it well, Sirigu punches it and as the ball drops Soldado is penalised for shoving Alex. six and two threes...

  • 13'

Moura looks a fantastic player - so lively. He dances past three players before overrunning the ball. Parc des Princes in raptures.

  • 12'

Pastore battles well and wins a foul off Barragan.

  • 11'

Lovely turn from Moura but an ambitious effort from a narrow angle that he drags well wide of the far post.

  • 10'

Motta and Alex clash heads going for the same ball. Motta hits the turf, Alex trots back into position as if nothing happened.

  • 9'

Lavezzi gives and goes, is found by Pastore and he wins another corner off Barragan.

  • 8'

Jonas now tries a half volley from inside the area but can't control it.

  • 7'

Jallet does well to flick a boot out and prevent Jonas from a strike on goal from eight yards. A good opening.

  • 5'

Really good chance for Valencia to break as Lucas Moura loses possession but Feghouli's lay off for Jonas is heavy and the home side reclaim the ball.

  • 4'

Pastore lurks at the back post before striking on goal but Mathieu blocks behind. First PSG corner.

  • 3'

Lavezzi charges onto a ball over the top but Guaita is out to boot clear smartly. The Argentine up top on his own by the looks of it.

  • 2'

Silva is across to concede a corner as Feghouli marauded down the right.

    KICK OFF

Becks warms up before the match

  •

An obligatory shot of the Eiffel Tower as the teams emerge from the tunnel.

  •

It'll be a special night for the aforementioned Leonardo. PSG's sporting director of course, he played 71 times for Valencia between 1991 and 1993. How many goals did he score for them you ask? Six, I tell you, a half dozen.

  •

Adil Rami's last gasp goal in the first leg has given Valencia hope at least, though PSG have won all 13 European ties in which they've won the away leg first.

  •

Something has to give tonight, according to the stats. Valencia are unbeaten in their last eight trips to France while Paris Saint-Germain are undefeated at the Parc des Princes in their last 22 matches.

  •

Before we get stuck into the nitty gritty, I strongly recommend you read this from Jonathan Johnson, who says the pressure is on PSG to perform in Europe after Leonardo said their squad is better suited to continental competition than their domestic league. It certainly raised a few eyebrows.

  •

Valencia team to play PSG: Guaita, Barragan, Victor Ruiz, Mathieu, Cissokho, Albelda, Parejo, Feghouli, Tino Costa, Jonas, Soldado. Subs: Diego Alves, João Pereira, Éver Banega, Guardado, Canales, Piatti, Valdez.

  •

PSG team to face Valencia: Sirigu, Jallet, Alex, Silba, Maxwell, Chantome, Motta, Matuidi, Pastore, Lucas, Lavezzi. Subs: Beckham, Douchez, Sakho, Camara, Armand, Gameiro, Van der Wiel.

  •

Becks is back in the Champions League, and starts on the bench as PSG look to defend a 2-1 advantage from the first leg of their tie with Valencia.
