Spain's Sergio Ramos: 'Nothing else to say' about Raheem Sterling stamp

Spain defender Sergio Ramos responded to claims he stamped on the left leg of England's Raheem Sterling during a UEFA Nations League game on Monday by posting a video on Twitter that appears to show he did not.

Ramos, the Real Madrid and Spain captain, wrote "Nothing else to say" in Spanish and English after including "stop," "think" and "be quiet" emojis alongside the clip of the video.

The incident occurred in the second half of England's 3-2 victory over Spain and came after Eric Dier set the tone with a hard tackle on Ramos in the 11th minute that led to a yellow card.

Sterling, who scored two goals in the first half of the win, already lay on the pitch when Ramos approached, and it seemed from the angle of the television cameras that the defender stamped on his opponent's left leg.

Ramos' video, from a different angle, shows Sterling already on the ground from a previous challenge, and the England forward had already grabbed his left leg in pain by the time Ramos reached him before running elsewhere.

Spain scored their second goal in the 97th minute through Ramos, whose actions for Madrid in the Champions League against Liverpool already earned him scorn in England.

Ramos took forward Mohamed Salah down by the left shoulder in the 30th minute of Madrid's 3-1 win, forcing Salah from the game with an injury that limited his performance for Egypt in the World Cup, and then reminded Salah of his actions by tapping him on the same shoulder during the UEFA awards ceremony in Monaco during the Champions League group-stage draw in August.

He also collided with goalkeeper Loris Karius during the final, with Karius later being diagnosed with concussion.

Ramos has denied trying to hurt Salah or Karius with his actions.
