Celta Vigo striker John Guidetti frustrated by Man United timewasting

Celta Vigo striker John Guidetti is convinced his side can overturn the home defeat to Manchester United and reach the Europa League final, but was frustrated by United's timewasting after Marcus Rashford's winning goal.

The first major European semifinal in the Spanish club's history began with a 1-0 first-leg defeat thanks to Rashford's splendid free kick. But the former Manchester City player believes his side were denied a chance to get back into it.

"After the goal, [Jose] Mourinho's got a lot of experience and he just tells his players 'game's over, game's finished, 1-0, we're not going to play any more football tonight,''' Guidetti said. "And you could see they made 15, 20 minutes be three minutes of football.

"That's what he does best... and it is something we have to learn from.''

The Galicians won second-leg ties at Shakhtar Donetsk and Krasnodar en route to the quarterfinals, where their fine away form continued as they drew at Genk to set up the tie against United.

"That means a lot to us and also the performances we have done away from home,'' Guidetti, who was born in Stockholm (the host of the final), said.

"Last year we scored three goals away against Atletico to go through and their defence is very strong and this year we won 2-1 at the Bernabeu and they are almost in the Champions League final. We know we can do it.

"It's not a problem to go there and attack because at the end of the day I don't think the Man United fans are going to be happy with Man United just sitting back and doing nothing.

"It's Old Trafford, it's their home they should be going and dominating us. The Man United fans expect more than sitting back and taking a 0-0 draw so I think we are going to have even more space, although we should have probably kept it 0-0.''

Guidetti also wants Celta to play with more speed and incision in the return leg at Old Trafford, with the striker's confidence in a momentous victory clear.

"It is still close,'' the Sweden international said. "It is half-time, they are leading 1-0 and we have to go out and make the second half count.

"We can't feel sorry for ourselves just because Rashford hit a good free kick. We've just got to take it on the chin and come back stronger.''
