Sevilla to defend Europa League title in final against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk

Sevilla will defend their Europa League title against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk after both teams won the second legs of their semifinals on Thursday.

Dnipro earned the right to be the surprise challengers by defeating Napoli 1-0 on Yevhen Seleznyov's goal in Kiev, Ukraine.

The striker managed to get his head to Yevhen Konoplyanka's cross in the 58th minute despite being tackled to the ground, and the Ukrainian side advanced 2-1 on aggregate.

Dnipro entered the competition in the playoff round, and after finishing second in their group to Inter Milan, ousted Olympiakos, Ajax, Club Brugge and now Napoli on their way to the final.

Sevilla, who edged Benfica on penalties in last year's final, put away Fiorentina with a 2-0 win in Florence, Italy.

First-half goals from Carlos Bacca and Daniel Carrico helped last year's champions add to their sizable advantage from the first leg to cruise into the final 5-0 on aggregate.

Sevilla also finished second in their group but made it past Borussia Monchengladbach, Villarreal, Zenit St. Petersburg and now Fiorentina to return to the final.

A spot in next year's Champions League group stage is the reward for the winners of this year's final, set for May 27 in Warsaw, Poland.
