Conte wants pride ahead of Lyon test

Juventus coach Antonio Conte says the Bianconeri "should be proud" to be the only Italian side left in Europe as they look to bounce back from a rare Serie A defeat in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Gladwell: Napoli show progress

The Italian league leaders lost for only the second time in the league at the weekend, going down 2-0 at Napoli. That result loosens their grip on a third straight scudetto slightly, but the Europa League is assuming an even greater importance to Italy's last remaining participant, and all of the focus is on Thursday's quarterfinal first leg at Lyon.

"We're not thinking of Roma," Conte said at a news conference. "It's only right that all of our thoughts are on Thursday's game against Lyon. We should be proud to be the only remaining Italian side in Europe. I hope that our defeat to Napoli can be the spark we need to ignite our push down the final straight."

Juve have the added incentive of contending the final in their own stadium, and while Conte has rotated his squad to keep his players as fresh as possible for their league commitments, the time has come to make success in Europe more of a priority, according to Claudio Marchisio.

"We want to go all the way," said midfielder Marchisio. "That's got to be our objective in every competition we play. This is a chance for us to bounce back immediately from Napoli, and we know how important it is to get a result here. We've been extraordinary so far."

Marchisio will start at the Stade Gerland with Arturo Vidal suspended while Carlos Tevez should return to a first-choice attack alongside Fernando Llorente after missing Sunday's trip to Naples through suspension.
