Dynamo Kiev-Valencia moved to Cyprus

Valencia's Europa League round of 32 first leg tie at Dynamo Kiev has been moved to Cyprus, UEFA has announced.

As many as 25 people have died, with hundreds injured, in clashes between anti-government  protesters and security forces in the Ukrainian capital, sparking security fears for the Spanish club ahead of Thursday's fixture scheduled to held at the Olympic Stadium.

The travelling party had planned to spend as much time as possible inside their hotel, as well as holdtheir pregame conference there.

However, UEFA confirmed in a statement on Wednesday afternoon that the match would be moved to the GSP Stadium on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, more than a 1,000 miles away.

Valencia will host the return leg at their Mestalla stadium on Feb. 27.

An international friendly between the U.S and Ukraine scheduled for March 5 is still set to go ahead, despite the continuing unrest in the Ukrainian capital, a U.S. Soccer spokesman said on Tuesday.
