Red Bull Salzburg 5-1 Astra Giurgiu
Red Bull Salzburg ended their Europa League group campaign unbeaten having eased past FC Astra Giurgiu 5-1 on Thursday night.
Adolf Hutter's side had already secured top spot in Group D but showed no sign of slowing down against their Romanian opponents as they took control in the Red Bull Arena.
Marcel Sabitzer and Kevin Kampl struck for the hosts before the break, with Alan scoring a brace in the second half and Kampl adding a fifth late on - with Gheorghe Florescu scoring a consolation goal for Astra, who end the campaign bottom of the group.
Salzburg started brightly and had two good chances through Alan and Naby Keita before Sabitzer opened the scoring inside 10 minutes.
The Austria forward converted Kampl's cross from 12 yards out with Astra goalkeeper Silviu Lung Jr unable to keep his effort out.
Sabitzer and Massimo Bruno both forced smart stops out of Lung Jr before the lead was doubled on 34 minutes as Kampl latched on to Alan's ball to finish into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area, putting Salzburg firmly on top.
The industrious Sabitzer came close again before Astra's Vasileios Pliatsikas drilled a shot in from outside the box, with Salzburg stopper Alexander Walke turning the ball around the post.
Kampl was involved once more less than a minute into the second half as he provided an assist for Alan, who tucked the ball home from close range to put Hutter's men 3-0 up.
Astra grabbed their consolation goal five minutes later as Florescu thrashed home - but a remarkable comeback was not on the cards.
Salzburg continued to push forward and Sabitzer and Alan were both denied by further good saves from Lung Jr, but he was unable to stop Alan's effort on 70 minutes as the Brazilian finished from Sabitzer's header across goal.
Laurentiu Rus hit the post for Astra almost from the re-start with Kampl doubling his tally for the evening in stoppage time - scoring a well-taken volley from Jonathan Soriano's cross.
