Man United to review security procedures after pitch invasions - sources

Manchester United will review their security procedures at Old Trafford after three pitch invaders attempted to approach Cristiano Ronaldo during the Champions League group-stage defeat against Juventus, sources told ESPN FC.

United were charged by UEFA on Wednesday after three fans made it onto the pitch -- one during the game and two after the final whistle.

The club will hold an internal investigation to determine how the incidents happened.

Greater Manchester Police said a man in his 40s was arrested at Old Trafford on suspicion of pitch invasion and spent the night in custody.

All three supporters appeared to be attempting to get close to Ronaldo, the former United star who helped Juventus to a 1-0 win on Tuesday night.

UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary body will review the case on Nov. 22.

In December 2014, Tottenham Hotspur were fined €15,000 after three supporters made it onto the pitch during a Europa League match against Valencia.
