Carlo Ancelotti: Bayern won't rest players at Arsenal despite 5-1 edge

Carlo Ancelotti has promised to play his best possible side and resist the temptation to rest players as Bayern Munich defend a healthy 5-1 advantage in the Champions League round-of-sixteen return at Arsenal on Tuesday.

Captain Philipp Lahm is suspended for the second leg after picking up a third booking of the campaign in Munich last month.

And speaking at the prematch news conference, Ancelotti confirmed Rafinha is set to replace Germany's 2014 World Cup winning captain at right-back.

"Rafinha will play," Ancelotti said. "He played well against Schalke and is in a good moment."

Asked why he had selected the twice-capped Brazil defender ahead of Joshua Kimmich, who plays at right-back for Germany, Ancelotti joked: "Rafinha is older than Kimmich."

Manuel Neuer miss the final training session on Monday, but Ancelotti advised the injury would not prevent Bayern's goalkeeper from playing.

"He has a minor back problem and needs some treatment at the hotel," Ancelotti said. "But he'll 100 percent play."

Brazil winger Douglas Costa had to be taken off with a knock to his left leg early in the second half of Bayern's 3-0 win in Cologne at the weekend.

"Costa is fit," said the Bayern boss. "Everyone is fit apart from [Jerome] Boateng who stayed behind in Munich, but he'll be with us next week."

Thomas Muller came off the bench to score Bayern's fifth and final goal of the evening in the first leg in Munich.

Quizzed about the German international's chances of playing a more prominent role in the return in London, Ancelotti said: "I always try and choose the best team. I don't know if Thomas will play, but I do know he will be important for us
