Jardim lauds Falcao performance for Monaco but urges him to do more

Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim praised Colombian striker Radamel Falcao for his two goals in their 2-0 win over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United forward scored a first-half brace to extend Monaco's lead at the top of Group E by two points.

Despite Falcao's superb performance, Jardim has urged the South American to stay fit and show his full potential.

"The important thing is that the club, me and the team believe in him," he told L'Equipe.

"He had a very good game for 60 minutes. That's Falcao, with lots of good combinations in the game.

"Now he has to get consistency and string together matches."

Monaco will play Tottenham Hotspur at home three weeks later, with a draw enough to confirm their progress to the knockout stages of the competition.

While Jardim was pleased with his players' overall game against CSKA, he is hoping they can keep the same level of concentration when they travel to London.

"In the first half there was the show, three goals, a lot of combinations," he added.

"We were very strong in the first period. This gave us an advantage in the game.

"At 3-0 at half-time, it was necessary that the team maintained a state of concentration [so] I had to talk a lot in the second period."
