Leigh Griffiths goal helps Celtic draw at FC Astana in Champions League

Celtic Leigh Griffiths
Leigh Griffiths and Celtic will take a crucial away goal back to Celtic Park.

Leigh Griffiths' 78th minute strike gave Celtic a 1-1 draw against FC Astana and put the Hoops firmly in charge of their Champions League destiny.

Defender Yuri Logvinenko headed the home side ahead from a corner in the 19th minute of the third qualifying round match at the noisy Astana Arena, which was just short of its 30,000-capacity.

In other matches, hosts Fenerbahce beat Ligue 1 side Monaco 2-1 in Turkey.

Emmanuel Emenike scored in each half before former Manchester United and Chelsea forward Radamel Falco pulled a goal back for Monaco.

Rosenborg defeated APOEL 2-1 at the Lerkendal Stadium.

First-half goals from Christian Gytkjaer and Jorgen Skjelvik paced the home side, while Georgios Efrem scored for the visitors.

FK Astra Giurgiu and FC Copenhagen drew 1-1 in Romania. Filipe Teixeira scored for the hosts before Thomas Delaney equalised for Copenhagen.

Nemanja Nikolic scored the lone goal as Legia Warsaw earned a crucial 1-0 win at AS Trencin in Slovakia.

Meanwhile, Olympiakos and Hapoel Be'er Sheva played to a goalless draw in Athens.
