Real Madrid's Marcelo criticised by Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking

Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking has hit out at Real left-back Marcelo, accusing him of "acting" in their Champions League meeting on Wednesday.

Marcelo went to ground on 69 minutes of Real's 2-0 loss to Wolfsburg in the first leg of their quaterfinal after clashing with Maximilian Arnold.

The Brazil international placed his head into the chest of Arnold before dropping to the floor while holding his face, with both players booked after the incident.

According to Bild, Marcelo and Hecking clashed at the Volkswagen Arena after the match.

"He called me [a] clown," Marcelo is reported to have said to the fourth official about the Wolfsburg coach, adding: "We will meet again, we will meet again."

The 51-year-old reportedly replied: "We'll meet again when you get eliminated."

Speaking in his postmatch news conference, Hecking told reporters: "I told Marcelo that he should stop acting. He could not have complained if he had been sent off in this scene."

Midfielder Arnold said: "What happened with Marcelo? I told him that I wanted to have beautiful hair like him. Things like this are part of football. Everything is forgotten after the match."
