Angel Di Maria won't celebrate scoring PSG goal against Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria says he will not celebrate if he scores against his former club Real Madrid in this week's Champions League clash between the sides.

Di Maria, 27, left Real for Manchester United after he put in a man of the match performance against Atletico Madrid to help the Spanish club win a record 10th Champions League title in 2014.

The Argentina international joined PSG for €63 million this summer and he will line out against many former teammates in a Group A meeting in Paris on Wednesday.

"If I ever score a goal I won't celebrate because, deep in my heart, I'll never forget what I experienced at Real," he told French TV channel Canal +.

Di Maria said the 4-1 victory over city rivals Atletico was an "unforgettable moment," particularly since Real had "practically lost" the match before Sergio Ramos scored a last-gasp equaliser to force extra time.

He believes French champions PSG have the ability to repeat Real's success by going all the way in the Champions League this season and he's also looking forward to the return match between the sides in Madrid in three weeks' time.

"I don't know how the fans are going to react," he said of his upcoming return to his old stomping ground.

"I left in the best possible way by winning the 10th Champions League title. I always showed my affection and for the last match they gave me a nice ovation. It'll be good for me to play at the Bernabeu again."
