Luka Modric has been selected in the Real Madrid midfield ahead of Isco for the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Atletico Madrid, while there is also no place for Pepe in defence. Modric is named alongside Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez, with Raphael Varane getting the nod ahead of Pepe alongside Sergio Ramos at the back. Iker Casillas, who was rested against Eibar at the weekend, returns in goal. Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale form the BBC partnership up front which has come under much scrutiny in recent weeks. For Atletico, Fernando Torres has to be content with a place on the substitutes' bench as Antoine Griezmann and Mario Mandzukic form the centre-forward partnership.
