Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri admits his team didn't approach their 2-2 draw with Cesena in the right manner. (1:20)

Juventus can aim as high as the Champions League final this season, according to their midfielder Claudio Marchisio.

The Bianconeri last reached the quarterfinals two years ago, when they were beaten by eventual winners Bayern Munich. Last season they were knocked out in the group stage, before qualifying for the last 16 behind Atletico Madrid this term.

Juventus are bidding for their first continental crown since 1996 and Marchisio is convinced they have nothing to fear going into their last-16 clash with Borussia Dortmund next week.

Only Bayern Munich and Real Madrid worry the 29-year-old, who says the pair can wait until the final in Berlin.

"We want to aim higher than in recent years in Europe," Marchisio told Sky Sport Italia.

"We want to reach the final. We can be a match for Borussia Dortmund because, apart from Bayern and Real, we are a match for anybody."

Marchisio's confidence comes not only from Juve's continued domination of Serie A, but from an increased focus on Europe during the winter.

"We dedicated a lot of time in January to being ready physically for the Champions League," Marchisio continued. "We can't neglect the league, but we do have our minds on Dortmund. It's important that we do well in the home leg."

Juve host Dortmund next Tuesday with the return leg three weeks later in Germany, on March 18.
