Stevan Jovetic passed fit for Manchester City's clash against Roma

MANCHESTER -- Stevan Jovetic has returned to the Manchester City squad for Tuesday's Champions League game against Roma as manager Manuel Pellegrini now has all three of his senior strikers available again.

Jovetic, 24, has sat out City's last five games after suffering a hamstring injury on international duty with Montenegro.

The Premier League champions were reduced to just one fit centre-forward in Edin Dzeko when Sergio Aguero missed the 7-0 Capital One Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday last week.

However, Aguero returned for the 4-2 defeat of Hull on Saturday and Jovetic is now available again for the Roma clash.

Fernando, who sustained a groin injury against Stoke in August, has also resumed training, although he is not being considered for Tuesday's game.

Pellegrini told a news conference: "We continue with Fernando [still absent]. Stevan Jovetic is in the squad list and Samir Nasri had surgery yesterday. He will be out for around one month. All the other players are fit."

City lost their first Champions League game of the season 1-0 to Bayern Munich, while Roma beat CSKA Moscow 5-1.

Pellegrini, though, denied that the opening results have put more pressure on his team, while taking heart from their group-stage results last season.

"It is normal pressure," he added. "Remember last year, our first home game was against Bayern and we lost. Maybe that is more pressure.

"I think we were very near to drawing against Bayern [this year] but it was a very good shot with a deflection so we couldn't add one point. But I suppose if we draw against Bayern we have the same question. Last year we lost to Bayern and won the other five games."

Pellegrini was serving a European touchline ban when City visited the Allianz Arena but that has finished now and he will be allowed in the dugout once again.

He said: "I don't think we lost against Bayern because I was not on the touchline but it is important to be nearer the players."

Roma have won their first five Serie A games this season and Pellegrini was full of praise for coach Rudi Garcia and his players.

He said: "AS Roma is a very good team, not only because it is in a very good moment. They have played five games and won five.

"Last year, they were also a very good team and the manager Garcia, in the beginning it was his first year [last season] and maybe no one was sure exactly what he could do, but he started winning all the games and qualified his team for the Champions League. He is a very good manager and has a very good team with technical and fast players."
