Legia Warsaw oust St Patrick's

Irish champions St Patrick's are out of the Champions League after a 5-0 defeat saw them lose 6-1 on aggregate to Legia Warsaw in the second qualifying round on Wednesday.

The Dublin side were only 1-0 behind at halftime but a flurry of goals after the hour-mark ensured it is the Polish champions who will now meet Celtic in the next round.

Miroslav Radovic scored twice while Michal Zyro and Marek Saganowski were also on target before a Conan Byrne own-goal made it five late on.

Steaua Bucuresti won 2-0 at home over Norway's Stromsgodset for a 3-0 aggregate victory.

The Romanian side will advance to play Kazakhstan's Aktobe, who beat Georgia's Dinamo Tbilisi 3-0 to win 4-0 on aggregate.

Wednesday's final three ties were all up in the air after goalless first legs.

Malmo of Sweden squeaked out a tight 1-0 win in Latvia to oust Ventspils. They will meet Sparta Prague in the next stage.

Finland's HJK also advanced with a 2-1 win over Macedonia's Rabotnicki, and will advance to play 2012 quarterfinalists APOEL of Cyprus.

Slovenia champions Maribor won 2-0 at home against Herzegovina's Zrinjski Mostar and will face Maccabi Tel Aviv, who cannot play at home because of the strife in the West Bank.
