Rooney missed United's 4-0 win at Newcastle last Saturday with a toe injury, casting doubts over whether he would be available for Wednesday's trip to the Allianz Arena.

But the England international trained with his teammates on Tuesday, indicating he will be at manager David Moyes' disposal.

At Bayern's prematch news conference in Munich manager Pep Guardiola was in no doubt that Rooney would line up for the Red Devils.

He said: "Rooney is going to play, 100 percent. He is going to play, I bet you a big glass of beer."

Guardiola described Rooney as "a big player, one of the best I have seen in my career."

United impressed in their quarterfinal first leg with Champions League holders Bayern, holding them to a 1-1 draw after Bastian Schweinsteiger cancelled out Nemanja Vidic's opener.
