Marco Reus still out for Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp has confirmed he will be without the injured Marco Reus for the Champions League tie against Zenit St Petersburg on Wednesday.

Buczko: Plenty to play for vs. Zenit

Germany international Reus will not take part at the Westfalenstadion as he has been sidelined with muscular problems for the past 10 days.

“Sadly, he can’t help us tomorrow,” Klopp said, before adding that he is hopeful Reus will return for the Bundesliga match at Hannover on Saturday.

The 2013 Champions League finalists are in a good position to secure their place in the Champions League quarterfinals after they won 4-2 in the first leg at Zenit.

“Ideally, it’s like playing a second half, just that this lasts 90 to 95 minutes. At St Petersburg we laid the groundwork for the second leg, and it’s better than expected,” Klopp said at a prematch news conference.

“There is no need to risk everything, but it would be rather stupid to only defend. It’s a normal football match.”

As well as Reus, Dortmund are without long-term absentees Ilkay Gundogan, Neven Subotic, Sven Bender and Jakub Blaszczykowski.
