Berlusconi 'gave tactical instructions'
AC Milan’s 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Tuesday bore the signature of club president Silvio Berlusconi, according to his daughter Barbara.
Barbara Berlusconi sits on the Milan board of directors and is involved on a day-to-day basis in the club’s affairs, although she does not have as direct an involvement as her father, who allegedly has his say on team affairs.
In February, Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri revealed Berlusconi has had an input on team tactics.
“He’s [Silvio] satisfied, also because some of the tactical indications he gave the coach were adhered to,” Barbara said outside Milan’s headquarters in the Lombardy city.
“It was a decent performance, one in which we showed heart and character. Now we need to go into our next two away games with the right mental tension. The trip to Glasgow is going to be particularly decisive. We’re going to play in a cauldron there.”
Barbara did not go into any detail about what exactly Silvio had asked to see from his side, but given his propensity for attacking football, it has been suggested it was not his idea to employ Kaka as a full-back for most of the second half.
Kaka was a menace in a more advanced position early on, though, setting up Robinho and showing glimpses of his former best on his first Champions League start in a Milan shirt at the San Siro in over four years.
