Conte wants Juve to bounce back

Juventus coach Antonio Conte has said his side's 4-2 defeat at Fiorentina on Saturday was an anomaly as they look to bounce back against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Antonio Conte has nowhere to hide as Juventus throw away the game at Fiorentina.

The Bianconeri need a positive result at the Bernabeu to boost their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages after two draws in their first group games.

"This is an important game against an important side, and games like this give you lots of motivation and stimuli," Conte said on Tuesday.

"What happened in Florence was unimaginable, but it's something which happens from time to time. But the statistics show that we are creating a lot.

"At the Bernabeu, we'll play our game against one of the most successful clubs in the world. It's going to be tough, but this is a chance for us to show all that we're capable of."

Drawing the opening group game at Copenhagen was an unexpected stumble, while being held to a draw at home to Galatasaray has complicated matters further.

And with ten goals conceded in eight league games and a five-point gap to Serie A leaders Roma, Juventus are arguably in their most difficult spell since Conte took charge.

The coach wants his key players to rise to the challenge -- among them Fernando Llorente, who has endured a difficult first few months in Turin.

Conte said: "Let's not forget he did not play for a year and he has had to digest all the insults he received in Bilbao."

Hinting at a partnership between Llorente and Carlos Tevez, he added: "Tevez has had a very positive impact, and he's an example for the quality and effort he puts in every day."

He echoed Italy coach Cesare Prandelli's praise for goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who remains his undisputed No. 1 despite a much-criticised performance at the weekend.

Echoing the words of Italy coach Cesare Prandelli, Conte said: "Buffon is a champion both as a player and as a person. For me, he's a guarantee and he always will be."
