Keller hails Kevin-Prince Boateng

Schalke coach Jens Keller has said he is delighted to have Kevin-Prince Boateng in his ranks as he prepares for the Champions League match at home to Steaua Bucharest on Wednesday.

Boateng scored his debut goal for Schalke at the weekend -- the only goal of the game at Mainz.

Since the arrival of the former AC Milan midfielder, Schalke have recorded two wins and have not conceded a goal.

Berlin-born Ghana international Boateng is set to take a central midfield role against Steaua, and Keller said: "We are just delighted to have him here.

"He has had some good performances so far, but the whole team has worked well. He has a lot of international experience, and that of course helps us."

Germany youngster Julian Draxler, 19, is set to play on the left wing again -- a change of position that has followed Boateng’s arrival.

"Julian has taken it well," Keller said. "He plays in that position in the national team. Julian had no problems with switching position."

Steaua won the Romanian league by a 16-point margin last season. They have not lost any of their last 12 competitive games and were last been beaten on the road in March, when they lost to Chelsea in the Europa League.

But a confident Keller said: "If we put in the performances we have displayed in the last Bundesliga games, we will be very hard to beat -- although Steaua are physically strong and are a confident team."
