Udinese have signed free agent Francesco Lodi on a one-year contract. The 31-year-old midfielder, a free kick specialist, had been without a club since being released by Lega Pro side Catania. Lodi made over 100 appearances over his four years with the Sicilian side but spent last season on loan at Parma, who were declared bankrupt towards the end of the 2014-15 campaign. A statement published on Catania's official website confirmed Lodi's deal at the Stadio Friuli, where he previously played while on loan from Empoli in 2009, can be extended by a further year.
