Fenerbahce deny talks with Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp

Fenerbahce have denied reports they have reached an agreement for Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp to take charge at the end of the season.

Klopp, 47, announced in April that he will leave Dortmund this summer, but said he was not planning on taking a break from management.

The coach has been linked with a host of European clubs, and Turkish newspaper Sabah claimed that Klopp had entered talks with Fenerbahce.

Dogan News Agency also reported that Klopp had flown to Turkey to discuss terms with the club, saying that the coach travelled with his wife to meet with Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim in Istanbul.

But Fenerbahce released an statement on their official website later on Monday denying the reports, saying: "The Sabah report claiming Fenerbahce are in advanced talks with Klopp are false.

"Ismail Kartal is the club's manager -- we urge the media in question to stop trying to play mind games and disrupt the team."

The Turkish side are currently second in the Super Lig, three points behind rivals Galatasaray with two games of the season left to play.

Klopp won back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 as well as reaching the Champions League final in 2013, but has struggled this season with BVB currently seventh in the table.

Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels may follow Klopp out of the BVB exit door this summer, with incoming coach Thomas Tuchel tasked with rebuilding the squad.
