Fenerbahce vs. Monaco UCL tie to go ahead - Sports Minister

Akif Cagatay Kilic said Turkey had quickly reestablished control after the attempted coup.

Turkey's Sports Minister has said extra security measures will be in place for Fenerbahce's Champions League qualifier at home to Monaco on Wednesday and dismissed suggestions the game should be postponed.

Besiktas announce talks to sign Barcelona full-back Adriano Correia

Adriano joined Barcelona from Sevilla in 2010.

Besiktas have confirmed they are negotiating with Barcelona over the signing of full-back Adriano Correia.

Adriano, 31, was included in the Barca squad for the preseason tour of the UK but he started only four La Liga games last season, with a further four substitute appearances, and appears to be surplus to requirements under Luis Enrique.

Bestikas issued a statement on Sunday to announce that talks had begun over a potential deal for the versatile Brazilian.

Stoke City have had a loan bid for Robin van Persie rejected by Fenerbahce, a source close to the player has told ESPN FC.

Van Persie, 32, has been closely linked with a return to the Premier League over the past couple of weeks with Middlesbrough expressing an interest.

Diego has decided to return to Brazil after pursuing a move to North America.

Former Brazil international midfielder Diego is heading back to his home country, having signed with Flamengo, the team announced via Twitter.

A source with knowledge of the deal said that Diego's previous club, Turkish side Fenerbahce, allowed the midfielder to leave on a free transfer. The source added that Diego has signed a three-year contract that will pay him between $2.5 million and $3 million per year after taxes.
