Lukas Podolski not a Gala target

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger branded Aaron Ramsey's late sending off against Besiktas "unbelievable" following his side's goalless draw in the Champions League playoff first leg.

Galatasaray are not interested in making an offer for Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski and have also revealed they were rebuffed when they approached the Gunners about the availability of Joel Campbell.

- McNicholas: Will Podolski survive the transfer window?

The future of Podolski, 29, appears to be uncertain and Arsenal could be prepared to let the Germany international move on should an acceptable offer be received. He has been linked with a move to Gala this week but the Turkish club's preside...

Ba 'benched for not being Chelsea star'

The ESPN FC panel favours Chelsea to win the Premier League title.

Demba Ba feels that he was often overlooked by coach Jose Mourinho at Chelsea last season because he is not a "big star."

- Wenger: Arsenal must win at all costs vs. Besiktas

Ba, 29, left Chelsea for Besiktas in the summer, but will be facing Premier League opposition again on Tuesday when the Turkish side host Arsenal in Istanbul for the first leg of their Champions League playoff.

The Senegal striker scored five goals in 19 Premier League appearances in his second and final season at Stamford ...

Kolo Toure wants Liverpool stay

Liverpool have shown interest in Spanish international Alberto Moreno and former Chelsea forward Samuel Eto'o.

Kolo Toure has declared that he wants to fight for his Liverpool place rather than move to Turkish club Trabzonspor.

- Liverpool agree Moreno fee

The 33-year-old centre-back lost his place in the first XI in February, and his chances of returning to the side have been hampered by the summer signing of Dejan Lovren from Southampton.

Lovren is expected to be a first choice this coming season, and Martin Skrtel is the favourite to partner him in central defence, with Mamadou Sakho the likely backup...

Trabzonspor claim Kolo Toure talks

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique says the club is ready to challenge for titles - without Luis Suarez.

Liverpool centre-back Kolo Toure is close to joining Trabzonspor, the Turkish club's president Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu has told Hurriyet.

The 33-year-old arrived at Anfield on a free transfer in July 2013 after his contract at Manchester City expired.

PREMIER LEAGUE PREVIEWS

As we count down to kickoff on Aug. 16, ESPN FC previews all 20 teams in this season's competition. Can Burnley, QPR and Leicester stay up? Will the new signings of Alexis Sanchez, Diego Costa and Adam Lallana help usurp Man City's crown? Will Manchester United get back on track under Louis van Gaal?

But after featuring regularly during the early months of last season, he did not start any of Liverpool's final 11 league matches.

Trabzonspor, who were last Turkish league runners-up in 2011 but haven't won the league since 1984, finished fourth in...
