Simone began his career with Como, and enjoyed eight years with Milan after signing in 1989, going onto win four Italian titles, two Champions Leagues and the Intercontinental Cup with the Rossoneri.

He's also well known for his time in France, having scored 22 goals in 58 outings for Paris Saint-Germain between 1997 and 1999.

The versatile attacker then moved onto AS Monaco for the first of three stints with the Club of the Principality, winning the French title in 2000.

Simone began his managerial career at the Stade Louis II, but lasted just one campaign before spells with Lausanne-Sport, Tours and Laval.

13-time Tunisian champions CA have already made two significant signings this month, having added Congolese forward Fabrice Ondama from Wydad Casablanca and Ghanaian defender Lawrence Lartey, who moves from Ajax Cape Town.
