Atletico hoping to sign Capoue

Atletico Madrid are keen to bring French midfielder Etienne Capoue to the Vicente Calderon from Toulouse and, according to Spanish daily AS, the Rojiblancos are preparing a €5 million bid.

Etienne Capoue has been strongly linked with a Toulouse exit
Etienne Capoue could yet be priced out of a move to Atletico Madrid from Toulouse.

Capoue is a player Atletico have been monitoring for a couple of seasons and after missing out on Jeremy Toulalan, who signed for AS Monaco, the Cochoneros are keen to land the Toulouse midfielder who made 34 appearances in Ligue 1 last season, scoring seven goals.

But worringly for Altetico, there is also interest from England and it’s believed that North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal are both keen on the France international.

While Atleti banked around €60 million from the sale of Radamel Falcao to Monaco this summer, their dire financial situation means they are unable to offer much more than €5 million, says AS.

And with Toulouse determined to negotiate a fee of nearer €10 million, Deigo Simeone’s side could lose out on yet another transfer target.
