Toulouse defender confirms Barca interest

Toulouse defender Aymen Abdennour has confirmed Barcelona have shown interest in signing him next season, with the Tunisia international hopeful of a move to the Spanish giants.

Abdennour, 23, has only spent two seasons in the French top flight but has already attracted scouts from Barcelona and was invited to attend last week's Champions League clash with AC Milan.

"I know that Barcelona are following me and four other defenders, at least," Abdennour told Radio Montecarlo. "If there is to be an offer from them at the end of the season then I will not say no, but Toulouse's president will decide.

"I almost went [to the Milan match] but the coach and the president asked me to stay so I could be at training the following day."

Abdennour's agent Abdelkader Jilani recently told Shems FM that the defender is likely to leave France in the summer.

"Toulouse are very close to Barca, so recruiters from Camp Nou often come to Toulouse and they know Abdennour very well," Jilani said. "Abdennour will definitely join a top European side whether it's Barcelona or not."
