Son, Lloris 8/10 as Spurs let lead slip in north London derby

Tottenham Hotspur are now without a win in three Premier League games after surrendering a two-goal advantage against bitter rivals Arsenal in the north London derby.

Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane put them in a great position to pick up all three points, only for a nice Alexandre Lacazette finish and a well-worked goal from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to ensure that it ended all square.

Positives

They played some great football when pushing forward on the counter attack, and whenever they were able to run at Arsenal, it was clear to see that they had the quality necessary to cause problems.

Negatives

The visitors allowed Arsenal to have far too much time on the ball, and consistently struggled to find any kind of a rhythm at the back. They were largely out-fought in midfield, and once the Gunners had a sniff at a comeback, they seemed to abandon their structure and collapse in on themselves.

Mauricio Pochettino, 6 -- The motivational boss that Tottenham fans once knew and loved seems to have disappeared in the early part of the new Premier League season. His changes were questionable at best, and for the second week running, there was no plan B once the game started to go south.

GK Hugo Lloris, 8 -- The World Cup winner kept Emery's men at bay on several occasions, producing world class saves that assisted in bailing Spurs' defenders out whenever mistakes were made.

DF Jan Vertonghen, 5 -- Was at fault for both goals after failing to make the necessary challenge for the first and allowing Aubameyang to catch him off guard for the second. Appeared to lack motivation.

DF Davinson Sanchez, 6 -- Seemed to fluctuate back and forth throughout the course of the game between looking comfortable and looking hopeless, which caused a few lapses in concentration. Seemed to panic in the midst of Arsenal's first goal.

DF Toby Alderweireld, 6 -- Was key in cutting out the final ball as and when was necessary, and served as the most consistent defender in what was an otherwise questionable defensive display from the UCL runners-up.

DF Danny Rose, 5 -- Following an important clearance at the back post in the 23rd minute, the Englishman's performance diminished. Gave the ball away in the lead up to the first goal and was caught out for the second.

MF Harry Winks, 6 -- Looked energetic when coming forward with the ball and played a helping hand in the build up to Spurs winning the penalty. Was lucky not to be sent off for a second bookable offense in the second half.

MF Moussa Sissoko, 6 -- Never really looked at ease in the middle of the park. Was far too impulsive with his decision making and could've done better to help prevent Arsenal's first goal.

MF Christian Eriksen, 7 -- Tapped in the opener and was consistently able to bring other players into the game. Proved once and for all why his creativity would be so sorely missed if he were to leave the club.

MF Erik Lamela, 6 -- Forced the shot which led to the first goal, but aside from that was fairly inactive. Had a few opportunities but was regularly sloppy in possession. Substituted in the 60th minute.

FW Son Heung-Min, 8 -- Was the heartbeat of his side's attacking movement once again, serving as the integral factor behind the opener before winning a penalty for the second goal. Always came across as one of the biggest threats on the pitch. Was substituted in the 79th minute.

FW Harry Kane, 7 -- Won the first header for the goal, slotted home the penalty and saw a nice effort bounce off the post in the second half. A strong return to form for Tottenham's main man.

Substitutes

MF Dele Alli, 6 -- Failed to make any kind of substantial impact after coming on in the 60th minute. Lacked the urgency required to keep Tottenham in a position to win the game.

MF Giovani Lo Celso, 6 -- Wasn't quite as influential as he was against Newcastle, with Arsenal being able to neutralise his attacking threat with relative ease.
