Lucas Moura has told ESPN FC that Tottenham players are anxious to get into their new stadium following more delays that could mean they don't play there until January. Spurs lost 1-0 to Manchester City at Wembley on Monday, a day after an NFL game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagles had been played on the same surface, highlighting Spurs' failure to get their new home open on time. Spurs' new home on the site of their former ground was originally due to open on Sept. 15 and had been previously announced to open in time for Christmas. One section of the stadium, which includes Europe's largest club shop, is open to the public. "I won't deny that we are anxious for the new stadium, our new home -- to get to know the new things in the stadium," Moura said after the game. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said last week they would continue at Wembley until the end of the year, but it was reported on Tuesday that the Premier League could push them to give final dates for a first fixture at the new ground. That could mean the club are forced to commit to staying at Wembley for the remainder of the 2018-19 campaign. Meanwhile, UEFA has confirmed they are monitoring the condition of the Wembley pitch ahead of the Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven on Nov. 6. "UEFA is closely monitoring the situation at Wembley and working with the club, the FA and management of the stadium, to guarantee safe playing conditions for the Champions League match." Katrina Law, the co-chair of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust, wrote in the Telegraph that Wembley fatigue is affecting attendances ahead of the new stadium opening and causing resentment among fans. This season Tottenham have played six matches as a home side, five at Wembley and one in Milton Keynes, due to the ongoing delays.
