Harry Kane confident over Patriots; Dier backing 'underdog' Eagles

Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Eric Dier have told NBC how much the UK has embraced the NFL and given their thoughts on the upcoming SuperBowl.

Kane, a New England Patriots fan, and Dier, who follows the Philadelphia Eagles, will see their teams go head-to-head at SuperBowl 52 this weekend, with the Patriots looking to claim back-to-back championships.

"I'm pretty confident," Kane said. "The Eagles have a good side though, a good defence. It's going to be a great game but when you've got Tom Brady and the guys, you've always got to be confident."

Dier added: "When Carson Wentz got injured it was a big disappointment but Nick Foles has done fantastically since he came in. Hopefully he can step up again in the SuperBowl. Obviously defence is going to be huge with Brady so it's going to be tough, but I enjoy an underdog."

The NFL has seen its audience grow in the UK over recent years as regular season games have come to London, with the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders set to meet at Wembley next on Oct. 14, 2018.

"It's been massive," said Kane. "When you see every game at Wembley or Twickenham is sold out and there's all different types of fans wearing different jerseys.

"For me personally it's been great because around seven years ago I started to watch it and around the same time they started showing games on TV [in the UK] and then there's been the live games and Wembley and others. It worked perfectly and the game is getting bigger and bigger, shown more and more, and hopefully it grows even bigger.

"It'll be great for the area, it's such a big event. Even NFL is a massive show and to have it over here and have fans coming from all across Europe, coming to this area, is brilliant. I can't wait to watch the Seahawks and Raiders go head to head."
