Former Tottenham Hotspur winger David Ginola believes that Dele Alli needs to be "more in charge of the game" if he is to produce his top form more consistently.
England international Alli, who is just 21, has three assists in his last three games and he sparkled in Spurs' 3-1 win over Real Madrid on Nov. 1.
But he has not consistently reproduced the form that earned him the PFA Young Player of the Year award in each of the last two seasons and he was guilty of a costly mistake leading to West Brom's goal in Saturday's frustrating 1-1 draw at Wembley.
Ginola -- who spent three years at Spurs from 1997, winning PFA Player of the Year in his second season -- believes Alli needs to take control of games more often.
"We know Tottenham can defend and in the midfield can create so many things as well," the Frenchman told talkSPORT.
"On the other hand they [are a] mixture [of] attitudes going forward up front.
"They've got Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen who's got good vision and he can score goals.
"Dele Alli, well, we know how capable he is, he's a very talented player, but he needs to be more consistent.
"The Premier League is a long season, you need to be consistent and he needs to be more in charge of the game."
