Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino, Son Heung-Min win monthly Prem awards

Tottenham Hotspur claimed an awards double on Friday when Mauricio Pochettino was named Premier League Manager of the Month for April and the club's forward Son Heung-Min was voted Player of the Month.

Spurs won all six league matches in April, including a historic 2-0 win over their North London rivals Arsenal which sealed a first league finish above their neighbours since 1995.

They finished the month four points behind league leaders Chelsea but lost the first game in May -- a 1-0 defeat at West Ham United -- which all but ended their hopes of a first Premier League title.

Pochettino beat Marco Silva of Hull City, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, Leicester City's Craig Shakespeare and Antonio Conte of Chelsea to the manager's award after his team scored 16 times in the month, conceding once.

"I feel proud because it's a collective award," Pochettino said after winning it for the fourth time in his career. "It means a lot for everyone here. It's a trophy that deserves to be shared with all at the club."

Son beat teammates Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen as well as Chelsea's Eden Hazard, Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, Sergio Aguero of Man City and Manchester United's Eric Bailly to the player's award after scoring five times last month -- a double against Watford, and goals against Swansea, Bournemouth and Burnley.

"I'm thankful to my teammates, coaching staff and so many fans," said the South Korea international, who also won September's award and has scored 12 league goals in a fine season.
