Tottenham's Christian Eriksen could play for Barcelona - Frank de Boer

Tottenham's Christian Eriksen has all the qualities needed to play for Barcelona and is ready to take the next the step in his career, his former manager Frank de Boer has told Rondo.

Eriksen, 25, reached 20 assists for the season with two pinpoint crosses in Spurs' FA Cup semifinal defeat to Chelsea on Saturday and has scored 11 goals.

In the same week that Xavi claimed Dele Alli could join Manchester City -- comments that prompted Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino to call him his "enemy" -- De Boer, who managed Eriksen at Ajax, suggested the Denmark international was ready to leave White Hart Lane.

De Boer, who managed Eriksen at Ajax, said: "I think he's really been making a name for himself, at Ajax at first, and then at Tottenham at the highest level.

"I also think he's ready for a next level. He has everything a Barcelona player needs. He has overview, work ethic, left and right, he's pretty complete.

"He's just not really a ball winner, but other people have to do that. He runs the highest distances, which isn't really the most important thing. But if you run for a lot of metres and you do that in the highest tempo, then it will deliver a result."

In September, Eriksen signed a new four-year deal, tying him to Spurs until 2020.
