Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane suffers injury against Millwall

LONDON -- Tottenham's hopes of winning the FA Cup and Premier League were dealt a potentially serious blow when Harry Kane limped off in Sunday's match against Millwall with a suspected ankle injury.

Kane, 23, went into the FA Cup quarterfinal at White Hart Lane with eight goals in his last three domestic appearances, and on top of the Premier League goal-scoring charts with 19.

But he lasted less than 10 minutes, limping straight down the tunnel as Millwall defender Tony Craig caught him with a sliding tackle after the striker's shot was parried by goalkeeper Tom King.

Replays showed Kane's foot bent awkwardly underneath him and the England striker was replaced by Christian Eriksen after receiving treatment on the touchline. Kane left White Hart Lane on crutches and wearing a protective boot.

Spurs' only other recognised centre-forward Vincent Janssen is yet to score from open play this season, although Son Heung-Min, who went up front against the Lions, has deputised.

Kane missed eight weeks of the campaign earlier in the season after injuring his ankle ligaments against Sunderland.
