Harry Kane hails 'great achievement' of netting 50 Premier League goals

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane says he aims to get to 100 goals quicker than he did to 50 as he scored a landmark goal against Stoke City in a 4-0 Premier League win on Saturday.

Son Heung-Min scored a brace while Dele Alli and Kane were also on target for Mauricio Pochettino's side at the bet365 Stadium. It took Kane 90 appearances to net 50 league goals for Spurs, but the England striker is already aiming for the next target.

"A couple of years ago, if someone would have said to me, 'you'll have 50 Premier League goals for Spurs' I would have taken that quite happily," Kane told the club's website. "It's a great achievement and makes me even hungrier to get to that next mark.

"I'll keep working hard, try to keep scoring and make those landmarks as we go along. I want to score goals for Spurs and the more the better.

"Fifty in the Premier League is a great achievement and here's to the next 50, preferably even quicker."

The 23-year-old's goal was his first in the top flight since May 2, and he added: "It is not an easy place to come but to win 4-0 here last year and today made it look easier than it is. I don't think we started that well but then we punished them when we needed to."

South Korea international Son said: "It is unbelievable to win at Stoke away. we had a great game and deserved to win. Both of my goals gave me pleasure because it is my first game of the season."

Pochettino, whose side are fourth in the table, added: "I'm very pleased. What was most important that we start a very difficult run of seven games in [23 days] with a win. It was the perfect result for us."
