Christian Eriksen renewal 'a question of time' - Tottenham boss Pochettino

LONDON -- Mauricio Pochettino says Christian Eriksen is happy at Tottenham Hotspur and that it is "just a question of time" before the midfielder agrees a new contract.

Eriksen, 24, has two years remaining on his current deal at White Hart Lane and sources have told ESPN FC that he has rejected the club's latest contract extension.

Last week, the Denmark international distanced himself from a report in the Daily Telegraph claiming he is demanding £150,000-per-week, taking to Twitter after Spurs' 1-1 draw at Everton to urge fans: "Dont believe everyting u [sic] read on the internet."

Pochettino is relaxed about the situation and insisted Eriksen is focused and happy at the club.

"The players involved in different things are always very professional," the Spurs boss told a news conference. "We are happy with him, he's very happy here. We'll see what happens. He has two years more on his contract, and he's happy here. It's just a question of time to agree a new contract."

Meanwhile, Pochettino reiterated that he hopes to add players to his squad before the close of the transfer window at the beginning of next month and said Clinton Njie remains part of his plans but Nabil Bentaleb, who is training with the under-21s, does not.

"We're trying," the Argentine said when asked about new signings. "I told you last week we hope to sign one, two or three players. Or maybe no one! It depends. We will try to find some players.

"I'm very happy. It's difficult in this crazy business that's football today. We have our philosophy. We follow our way. It makes us different to other clubs.

"I was clear with you about Bentaleb -- he's not in my plans -- but Clinton is in my squad and he's in my plans."
