Dele Alli has been banned for the final three games of Tottenham's season after he accepted an FA charge of violent conduct.
Midfielder Alli was charged with violent conduct after punching West Bromwich Albion's Claudio Yacob in the stomach.
He did not contest the charge but argued a three-game ban would be "clearly excessive."
That argument was rejected, meaning he now sits out the visits to Chelsea and Newcastle and the club's final home game of the season, against Southampton.
The off-the-ball incident, which happened in the 26th minute of a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane on Monday, was missed by referee Mike Jones but caught by TV cameras.
An FA statement said: "Dele Alli will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after he committed an act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.
"The player accepted the FA's charge but contested that the automatic penalty of a three-match suspension would be 'clearly excessive.'
"This claim, however, was rejected following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing."

Alli, who was named PFA Young Player of the Year last week, wrote on Twitter: "Gutted that my season is over. Shouldn't have reacted like I did. Will learn from this and come back stronger."
The 20-year-old England international has been integral to Tottenham's challenge for the Premier League title this season, scoring 10 goals.
The news will come as a blow to Spurs and their head coach Mauricio Pochettino, who remain just in the hunt for the Premier League title.
The draw against the Baggies, which saw Craig Dawson equalise his first-half own goal, means Leicester need just three points from their last three games and could seal the title with victory at Manchester United on Sunday.
Spurs do not play until Monday night, for the third time in succession, and could kick off at Chelsea out of the running or with the chance to increase the pressure on the Foxes.
Speaking after the draw with the Baggies, Mauricio Pochettino claimed opponents were inciting Alli, saying: "Sometimes the opponents find him and try to provoke -- they know he has a strong character and may react."
