Mauricio Pochettino: Tottenham had good day at office vs. Bournemouth

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino reflected on "a good day at the office" after his side cut the gap on Premier League leaders Leicester to five points with a 3-0 home win over Bournemouth.

Spurs were a goal up in less than a minute when Harry Kane struck, with the England man doubling their advantage with his 21st of the season soon afterwards.

Christian Eriksen scored the third after the break and Pochettino told the BBC: "It was a good day at the office.

"We were good from the beginning today, and I'm very happy with the collective performance.

"It was very important to score early in the game. We created a lot of chances and today was one of the best performances of the season."

Pochettino said the forthcoming international break "has not come at a bad time" for his club.

"Ninety percent of the squad is with the national team," he added. "We have seven games to come and when the players come back from the national teams, we hope it is with a good spirit."

Goal hero Kane said the Spurs players had "wanted to come out of the blocks flying" and added: "We scored early, but I think we are a calm team anyway.

"I'd rather have the five-point lead, but with Leicester usually playing first we know what we have to do -- there's still a lot of points up for grabs."

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, meanwhile, said his team had contributed to their own problems, explaining: "We knew they were a good side, but with and without ball we were poor.

"It's a good lesson because they are a top-class side, and it shows we have some way to go."
