Tottenham's Christian Eriksen eyes 'intense' West Ham, Arsenal derbies

Christian Eriksen says Sunday's comeback win against Swansea has given Tottenham confidence ahead of this week's "intense, exciting" double-header against West Ham and Arsenal.

Spurs began one of the most important weeks in the club's recent history with a 2-1 win against the Swans at White Hart Lane, though they had come from behind after Francesco Paloschi's first half opener for the Swans.

The hosts dominated the match and had 14 shots on target -- more than any other Premier League club has managed this season -- but found visiting goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski in inspired form.

The former Arsenal keeper made a number of fine saves before substitute Nacer Chadli broke the deadline on 70 minutes, and Danny Rose fired home the winner with 15 minutes remaining.

Spurs have now won 17 points from losing positions this season -- more than any other Premier League club -- and Eriksen, who thrived in a deeper role against Swansea, believes the win has added belief ahead of Wednesday's trip to Upton Park, and Arsenal's visit on Sunday.

"These are two really intense, exciting games," the Denmark international told the club's official website.

"Hopefully at the end of the week we'll be in a good position. We turned a corner today [Sunday] and we know we have the confidence going into these two games. We know it means a lot to the fans.

"We feel really confident [against Swansea], when we were 1-0 down it felt a bit weird because we had a lot of the ball, created a lot of chances and should really have scored in the first half. In the second half we kept going and we know we can come back in games."

With Mousa Dembele unlikely to be fit for either London derby and Dele Alli a doubt for West Ham with an ankle complaint, Eriksen could again line up in a deep-lying playmaker role at the Boleyn Ground. The 24-year-old admits he likes to attack but says having teammates on the same wavelength makes it easier to play in a number of positions.

"We had the ball a lot and I had opportunities to drop a little, go and collect the ball and create," He said.

"They were deep and let us have the ball and that's one of the better things about me, I like to go forward. I'm always trying to find the right solution and the right position to play the ball forward and hopefully direct the guys. We all have the same thoughts as well and we know where to go and where to pass the ball."
