Tottenham's Dele Alli to train despite injury worry - sources

Tottenham Hotspur expect Dele Alli to train as normal on Monday ahead of this week's crucial double-header against West Ham and Arsenal, after an incident in the warm-up before Sunday's win over Swansea, sources have told ESPN FC.

Alli appeared to suffer an injury in shooting practice before the 2-1 win and he was seen holding his ankle and talking with the team doctor ahead of kickoff.

The midfielder played the full 90 minutes and looked unscathed, as Spurs recorded their sixth consecutive league victory to move back within two points of Premier League leaders Leicester.

However, the 19-year-old was seen limping onto the team bus after the match and he admitted he had kicked the ground during the warm-up but told reporters he said he would be "alright" for Wednesday's trip to Upton Park.

Spurs' doctor has not relayed any concerns about Alli's ankle to the club and Spurs expect the England international to train with the rest of the first team on Monday.

Mauricio Pochettino is already without Mousa Dembele (groin) and Tom Carroll (Achilles) but made no mention of Alli after the match, only saying that some players may be fatigued.

"It's easier to prepare for the West Ham game after this victory," the Spurs head coach said. "[The players] are happy, they smile, it is always a better mood to recover.

"It is an exciting moment for us but some players we need to manage because some players feel a little bit tired. We came from a very tough period."
