Hugo Lloris set to miss Tottenham's Premier League opener at Man United

Hugo Lloris is likely to miss Tottenham's trip to Manchester United on Saturday, Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed.

Lloris, 28, came off the bench to play the last 30 minutes of Spurs' 2-0 victory over AC Milan in the Audi Cup on Wednesday -- his first appearance since breaking his wrist last month.

The France international's display offered hope he might play in the opening game of the 2015-16 Premier League season at Old Trafford, but Pochettino told the London Evening Standard his No. 1 goalkeeper is not ready to play a full game.

"He played 35 minutes and it was fantastic to see," Pochettino said. "It was very positive today to assess him, but maybe he is not ready for 90 minutes.

"But it's very important he is ready to come back."

With Lloris unlikely to start, Michel Vorm is set to play against United following a disappointing display against Real Madrid in the Audi Cup.

Lloris signed for Spurs in 2012, and his impressive displays at White Hart Lane have seen the keeper linked with a move to Spurs' upcoming opponents United should Louis van Gaal sell David De Gea to Real Madrid.
