Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants Spurs' transfers finished early

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants to get the majority of his club's transfer business concluded early this summer to allow boss Muaricio Pochettino time to work with his squad.

Spurs have already signed four players this summer, with Kevin Wimmer, Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld arriving, while Paulinho, Lewis Holtby and Etienne Capoue are among those who have headed through the Tottenham exit door.

Levy has built a reputation for closing out high profile deals in the final hours of the transfer window, but it seems as if he is eager to alter that approach this time around.

"At the moment it is fairly relaxed," he told Sky Sports. "I would anticipate that as the window goes on, the activity will happen in the last two weeks but we are trying to do business early where we can.

"The window will be reasonably busy. We have already brought in four new players since the winter window and we've done deals for players who have now left."

Levy went on to offer his thoughts on the club's ambitious plans to build a new stadium next to their White Hart Lane home, after a deal to play NFL matches at the ambitiously designed 61,000-seater venue was announced on Wednesday.

"Over the next 10-15 years the area of Tottenham will be completely transformed from what it is today," Levy added.

"With the co-operation of the Government, the Mayor and the local authority you will see massive investment in this area. There will be transport improvements, lots of new houses, and most importantly lots of new jobs."

Tottenham have already started the preliminary stages of their development of their new home, which is scheduled to be ready in 2018.

Confirmation of where Spurs will play for the 2017-18 season as the final stages of their stadium project has yet to arrive, with stadium:mk in Milton Keynes -- which is the home of Championship side MK Dons -- among the venues under consideration.
