Tottenham's fixture congestion worries Mauricio Pochettino

BURNLEY -- Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino admitted he is worried by the fixture congestion his side face after Burnley took them to an FA Cup replay for the right to meet Leicester in the fourth round.

Spurs will host Burnley again on Jan. 14 and only have one free midweek in the next two months -- and that could change if they face an FA Cup replay in another round.

They are still in all four competitions, the Premier League, the FA Cup, the Capital One Cup and the Europa League, in what threatens to become a marathon campaign.

Pochettino said in his conference: "I am a little bit disappointed tonight because we [now] need to play another 90 minutes. But this is football. I think we need to stay in the next round. We are still in the FA Cup. For Tottenham, it is important to be in the next round."

Spurs went ahead through Nacer Chadli, but Pochettino was annoyed they let a lead slip and was not impressed with a first half when neither side recorded a shot on target.

He added: "I am disappointed with the result. I am disappointed because I think the first half was poor for both teams."

Harry Kane came on at half-time and Pochettino added: "We fix some things. We learn from the first half and fix some situations. We were better, we improve our performance but it wasn't enough to win the game."
