A report claiming that Toronto FC are in talks with former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about becoming the club's next coach is "100 percent not true," an unnamed club source told MLSsoccer.com.

Rumours of the potential move surfaced on Tuesday after Solskjaer's agent told Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet that the 42-year-old Norwegian had been in touch with Toronto FC about the job, currently held by Greg Vanney.

Multiple reports out of Canada denied the accuracy of the agent's statement, with some instead suggesting Solskjaer could take over a new role as club president.

Solskjaer, 42, last coached Cardiff but was sacked last September following the Welsh club's relegation to the Championship.

Toronto FC is currently coached by Greg Vanney and is in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
