Torino boss Sinisa Mihajlovic said he was not angry with Joe Hart after the England goalkeeper marked his debut with a costly error in Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Atalanta.
Hart, on a season-long loan from Manchester City, misjudged a corner to allow Andrea Masiello to score the equaliser just two minutes after Iago Falque had given Torino a 54th-minute lead with a free kick.
Hart had made a difficult save from a sharply angled shot from Franck Kessie midway through the first half, and Mihajlovic said after the match: "Hart saved us on one occasion, but of course he could have done better on the corner. But it happens.
"As I said, I never get angry at my players for a wrong pass, a missed penalty. I get angry when they don't play how we prepared during the week."
Little went right for Hart, who became the first English goalkeeper to play in Serie A since the league's inception in 1929. Even before the game, his name had been listed as "John Hart" on the official team sheet.
He was unable to do anything to stop the winning goal either. Kessie scored the winner eight minutes from time, rolling in a penalty to the right corner as the keeper went in the other direction.
"We've lost due to individual mistakes," Mihajlovic added. "It's true, all the goals we've conceded so far have been individual mistakes. If you don't make mistakes, all games would end 0-0. This is positive in a way because it's easier to sort out individual mistakes than [mistakes] of a whole part of the team. Certainly we need to be more careful in certain situations."
It was a frustrating match for Mihajlovic, who was sent off for protesting shortly after the half-hour mark after also kicking a water bottle.
It was the fourth time in two seasons that Mihajlovic has been sent off, including his time in charge of AC Milan last season.
"I'm not going to speak about the referee, but if I get angry there is a reason," he added. "It's absurd that in two years I have been sent off four times for little things like kicking a bottle and then they don't watch what is going on on the pitch!
"I am not convinced by the penalty either, it punishes us too much."
