Nyasha Mushekwi to become first Zimbabwean in Chinese Super League

Former CAPS United frontman Nyasha Mushekwi is set to become the first Zimbabwean to play in the Chinese Super League since its 2004 rebrand after his club Dalian Yifang beat Dalian Transcendence 2-1 on Sunday to secure promotion with two games to spare.

Dalian Yifang top the standings in the Chinese League One with 61 points from 28 matches, two more than second-placed Beijing Renhe.

Crucially, they sit nine points above Qingdao Haunghai in third, and are guaranteed a top-two finish and automatic...

Zim PSL wrap: Ngezi close gap as Dynamos stumble

Qadr Amin's second-half strike powered Ngezi Platinum to a vital 1-0 win away to Bulawayo City on Saturday as Tonderai Ndiraya's team came to within a point of log leaders Dynamos, who could only manage a 1-1 draw away to ZPC Kariba on matchday 28 in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

Ngezi have spent more time at the log summit than any other team this season but they looked to be losing their footing of late.

Saturday's win in Bulawayo however provided ample proof that the Mhondoro-based miners...

Zimbabwe PSL preview: Dynamos away as title run-in begins

Log leaders Dynamos make the trip to unpredictable ZPC Kariba this weekend, while a massive showdown looms at Barbourfields Stadium where third-placed FC Platinum visit Bulawayo giants Highlanders as the title run-in gets underway in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.

Dynamos have seized the momentum after opening up a three-point lead at the top of the table with seven games to play, but coach Lloyd Mutasa should be aware that the toughest hurdles are those that lie ahead as he looks to close...

Chibuku Super Cup: CAPS clash abandoned after crowd trouble

An assistant referee sustained a cut above the eye after being struck by a missile as the Chibuku Super Cup quarterfinal clash between CAPS United and Shabanie Mine was abandoned just after the hour-mark due to crowd trouble.

Veteran defender William Mapfumo had beaten the halftime whistle with a superb header to put hosts Shabanie ahead, with favourites CAPS then struggling to convert a series of chances which came their way, much to the frustration of the travelling supporters.

And just when it...

Dynamos go top of Zimbabwe PSL

Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League giants Dynamos finally reached the summit of the league table this season after their outstanding win over Chapungu in Gweru on Thursday.

The game was abandoned on 18 June following the 56th minute collapse of a goal frame as Lloyd Mutasa's team led 4-0, with the Premier Soccer League secretariat subsequently taking forever to map the way forward.

There were to be no further goals as the two teams completed the remaining 34 minutes to officially hand Dynamos the three...
