Singapore's Sundram calls for more creativity after defeat to Vietnam

New head coach V. Sundramoorthy admits that Singapore's attack needs to make improvements after firing blanks in the final of the AYA Bank Cup against Vietnam in Yangon on Monday night.

De Rossi had been on the pitch for only seven...

Safuwan has primarily operated as a box-to-box midfielder for both Singapore and his Malaysia Super League side PDRM FA this season. But the 24-year-old could be used as a striker as new coach V. Sundramoorthy looks to mix things up.

"We got to keep them thinking," Sundram told The New Paper.

"Safuwan is good in the air, he can...

The Singapore Cubs failed to win a game at the Nations Cup, finishing fourth out of four.

The Singapore Under-21 side finished fourth at the 2016 Nations Cup after losing 5-4 on penalties to their Vietnam counterparts in Malacca on Sunday afternoon.

The third place game at the Hang Jebat Stadium finished 2-2 after 90 minutes after Hoang Anh Tuan's Vietnamese side clawed their way back from two goals down to force a penalty shoot out.

Vietnam dominated the first half, but Singapore took the lead against the run of play three minutes before the break. With the Vietnamese defence failing...
